Re: SNs from my aol days

A little info about me.

I usually go by Scott. I've been role-playing since about 98/99. Outside of a few short breaks Aol has been my playground of choice. I've done some forums over the years and even once gave yahoo rooms a try. Made some great friends along the way and lost quite a few too. Such is all of our stories. 

So in my early days I found my place in the Black Moon Tavern. It was medieval and located on the outskirts of Rhydin. I wish I could remember the original owners names but that was damn near 20 years ago. I played with them and the "regulars" for a couple years before the owners moved on and left it to me. It was eventually turned into a modern fantasy room due to popular demand. I kept it up and running for quite a few years along with some of those "regulars" before taking my first break. After that everyone moved on and outside of me reviving it for some short play here and there it was left behind.

I've played in quite a few other rooms and sls over the years. These are some within the last 2-3 years:

A couple Zombie sls(mostly killed the zombie world for me which is why it is now listed under dislikes)

I've toyed around in The Nexus world. Mostly with friends who were part of it. NEVER officially joined anything.
Misty Knolls(owned by a dear friend who passed away..small group mostly and more of a side play to the Gator group)


And I'm sure a million more I will think of as soon as I post this.

A lot of variations of Twisted over the years.(mostly in the early days). It was usually followed by a number or something like dragon. I was young and lacked creativity in names. That hasn't really changed actually.

Rhydin & Rhydin Rooms

Rhydin is a realm where creatures from all over time and space can come together and coexist. That's why so many different races and people from different periods in history can be found here. Rhydin is also a continent and a city. It is often left up to players to decide what the setting is but if one thing is certain, it's that it is always a nexus. 

On this site Rhydin is a city, located on a continent named Rhydin, in the realm of Rhydin. Confusing? Maybe a little but that's part of the fun. Anyway, there are really no laws to what is and isn't possible in Rhydin so players have nothing but their imaginations to limit themselves. Having said that, all Rhydin rooms will have Rhydin in the title.

Zombie City (modern realism)

Post-apocalyptic zombie RP.
Takes place in indescript city in modern times.




A virus has been spread by mosquitoes, or so that's what they said on the news before all hell broke loose. It resulted in the degeneration of mankind, turning friends and family into mindless killing machines bent on devouring anything they could get their undead hands on. It takes place in a city too destroyed to recognize. Most of the street signs and storefronts have been peeled away, if not by time then by violence and desperation. It's been 10 years since the first case had been discovered within the United States – 10 years since everything that had been normal about the world and life had been ground to dust by the unforgiving wrath of nature. Now people do whatever it takes to survive, struggling to exist in a world that no longer has a place for them.

Facts:
1. This is open, free-form roleplay. That means there is no moderator to guide it. You just RP your character in this desolate city trying to survive.
2. Zombies are slow and fast depending on their injuries and the state of their decay. The ones in best shape can run, jump, and even climb some objects (your discretion).
3. The city has everything that any other city would have but the services have ended long ago so no help will be coming, at least not from the government.
4. Takes a few hours to 24hrs for someone to turn from a bite or flesh penetrating scratch. Depends on person's health and all that.

Black Sands Tavern/Devils Port

Established by pirates some untold years ago, th' town looks as if it could be as ole as th' rocks its built into. 'tis rumored that th' first t' settle here was Captain Variks crew 'n had done so only aft becomin' shipwrecked. 'twas th' perfect location t' hide boatloads o' booty, stolen from countless ships o'er decades o' runnin' wild on th' open seas. Th' only signs o' th' Captain 'n his shipmates are th' remnants o' th' ole ships, worn 'n beaten by weather 'n wounded by th' rocks, restin' on th' east side o' th' island. Its all been swabed out by now 'n be said t' be haunted by th' ghosts o' those that once walked th' decks. Others landed here 'n made th' town thar own but nah one o' them can be trusted.

In th' center o' town be th' Black Sands Tavern. A place ravaged by ill-mannered seafarers all day 'n night. Rum be everywhere! But wit' it comes fights 'n crazy tales about th' dangers lurkin' deep in th' jungle but even more importantly th' mountains o' booty said t' be hidden in caverns far below. Seek it out at yer owns risk, they'll tell ye, 'cause all whose gone lookin' has ne'er come back.

Facts: The island is haunted by ghosts and terrorized by skeletons and sea monsters but the town is usually safe aside from some night time visits. You are free to include these in the play at will. Sometimes the admin may come in and play a temp char (or monster) to spice things up. Its a lawless town with greed and rum keeping it alive. Your character does not have to get lost when entering the jungle if you don't want it to. It's all at your discretion. Any questions, just ask.

Ghost/Skeleton Activity does NOT happen in the day time but beast activity is permitted.

Skull Island Wilds

More like th' land o' skulls. Perhaps it were th' waves that beat 'n molded th' skulls t' look like th' dead. Or maybe its th' evil spirits surfacin' in th' tainted stone stained wit' th' blood o' adventurers 'n th' like that came lookin' fer thar share o' th' ancient loot. Death doesn't jus' haunt th' landscape but it can be seen wherever ye dare t' tread. Th' remains o' th' fallen hide under every fat leaf 'n large stone. Ye'll hear all about it should ye step foot in Devils Port, a village built into th' bluffs themselves 'n used as a hideaway fer all manner o' fowl persons. If ye fancy yourself t' be brave then go on 'n venture int th' depths o' th' jungle. Many a scallywag's been driven mad from th' horrors faced thar. Watch yer back if ye find yer ship dockin' here. Ye might nah be leavin'.

SNs..

I only roleplayed on AOL. I never really tried to play anywhere else despite having heard and been told about a few other places to do it because I was pretty content where I was. If you know me from any of these sns, feel free to add me on here and get back in touch with me if you haven't already. And, don't hesitate to jump into a chat room with me and RP. I'm not listing off every single sn I made, mostly because I can't remember them, and also because I had random sns and even one time use sns. But I will list off the most popular/most used ones I've had.

RainyFaith My first roleplay sn. She was a vampire that always kept to herself so I didn't have much of an rp life. lol She wasn't involved in anything when it came to forums, guilds, but she was always hanging out in the Vampire Tavern and All Creatures Tavern, taking up a lean on the wall whenever at either place.

PestilentFate Jetta, a demon, was my most active character with the most going on when it came to everything rp. I played on that sn from 2008, I believe, up until AOL was killed off. This character was involved in a few things, from guilds and top secret organizations, to just random rp sessions. This was probably my favorite character, and during the time I played her, I definitely had the most fun in my rp history. On here, she's under the name Jetta and the place she's most easily found at is the Reapers Saloon.

TwistedRuse This was a dragon character that masked itself as a human that I made when the stuff with pestilentfate had unfortunately died down to a simmer. She had an open SL running for a while, before I ended up joining Enchanted Hills. Stuck with that for some time, made some friends and had some fun, before deciding to move on to other things. Kind of stuck Dusk (Alexis Hart) on the back burner then.

I had another sn, from way back, where I played a fox that eventually was turned into a human. I think I was 13yrs old or somewhere around there. She had a crazy life. Everyone was always trying to kill her. I always hung out at the Vampire Lake, and it was just nonstop combat with people there. I remember my character having a friend that was in a wheel chair. I think his name was Spike. Fun times.
